I examine the often unsung evolution experienced by a family supporting a loved one with dementia; the “caregivers”. By layering mixed media, my paintings emphasize the psychological polarity between the caregivers’ growth and the difficulty they experience. My hope is the visuals reveal unexpected heroes and lend encouragement to families that bear witness to disease.
