Luba Linok

My artwork draws on the experience of childhood alienation while growing up in Montreal. My work speaks of acceptance and reconciliation with the pressures of retaining my cultural identity. As an outsider looking in, I explore my identity and how the metaphorical and literal significance of roots, and ornamental patterns endemic of traditional Ukrainian decorative arts, inform and support my theme.
